Scentsy Review & Giveway

My life as Mami & Wickless Wonder Woman join forces to bring you this awesome giveaway!
Check out Wickless Wonder Woman's Facebook Fan Page for more information on how to win here.

I have no opinion or say in the winner however, I do love Scentsy. With 3 boys (husband included, lol), a 100+ pound Rottie and a ferret I have them on constantly. It's nice not to have to smell the boy/pet funk that just seems to ooze out of them. Switch on the Scentsy and in about 5 minutes your house starts to smell amazing. With over 80+ smells to choose from it's hard not to find one you don't like. The warmers themselves are like little pieces of pottery that can be displayed. Another plus is you can leave home without having to worry about it catching on fire like a candle would if you forgot to blow it out. They also are made of food grade wax so if your ferret just happens to eat some or gets into a lit warmer and gets wax all over him, it's ok. Might be messy but it is safe. The warmers themselves do it warm but not hot to the touch like knock offs. So they are safe to be around small children and animals. The scents are non toxic and don't leave soot on your walls. All in all I don't know what I would do without mine that I have.

Hope my review on the Scentsy warmer system has enlightened you and you enter into the drawing!

Thanks for stopping by. Until next time. Who knows what we will get ourselves into!

Calling All Mixels

LEGO Mixels logo

Where have we been?
We have been consumed by Lego's newest creation, Lego Mixels. Gabe bought his first one with some of his birthday money and the rest is history. 24/7 Mixels. Mixel this, Mixel that. What in the world is a Mixel you ask? They are the coolest thing ever, according to little g. Lego and Cartoon Network have joined forces and come out with a series of creatures that come from different tribes. They have to defend their land from the evil Nixels who steal Cubits.
CUBITS Trans
Cubits are ores that give Mixels the power to Mix, Max & Murp and are a central object in the Mixels franchise. They are one of the natural resources in Mixels Land however their supply is limited. The Nixels' mission is to destroy all of them (thus preventing Mixels from doing said actions).

Mix, Max, Murp!

Mix: Combine two Mixels and get twice the power. The one Mixel will be the dominant character, while the other Mixel will give it extra powers to solve a particular problem or get you out of trouble.

Max: Combine all three characters of each tribe and they become a MAX – a giant mega-Mixel who has all their powers combined!

Murp: Combine two, three or even four Mixels in whichever way you like, but sometimes it goes a little bit wrong and it becomes a MURP - a weird mixed-up Mixel with a totally unique personality that cannot be controlled.

There are currently 16 short episodes on Cartoon Network that seem like they are on repeat at our house. Along with downloadable games for iphone, ipads and android devices. Calling all Mixels is $3.99 in the Apple Store and Amazon App Store.  Yes, my spoiled G brothers have it on both. That way there's no fighting over who gets to play.

We currently have all the Mixels that have come out to date and are waiting patiently for Series 3 to be released. Mami has used these little guys as payment for doing their weekly chores. At around $5 a Mixel I think that's a fair trade to ensure that their beds are made and room is picked up.  Each package is roughly anywhere between 40-70 pieces.  They are for children 6+ which to me that age is debatable when it comes to Legos and your parenting style. We have let little g build with the little Lego bricks for a couple of years now, obviously supervised in the younger years.

Now, Let's meet the Mixels!

Series 1 was release in February of 2014.

The Infernites -" A tribe based on fire. When all 3 combine, they become a bipedal dragon-like creature with fire breath. Their cubits are red."

Meet Flain - "Flain is the adventurous leader and known as “the smart one” of the group. But beware, if Flain thinks too hard that massive brain of his will explode and catch fire!"

Zorch Set

Meet Zorch - "Zorch is the fastest Infernite, and a skilled prankster. The fiery jets from this cheeky Mixel’s backside leave Nixels standing in a cloud of smoke."

Vulk Set

Meet Vulk - "The one-eyed Vulk is the strong but dim-witted and lovable member of the Infernite tribe. The scorching-hot hands of Vulk can melt escape routes through solid rock and fend off Nixels."

And now the Infernite Max;

Infernites Max Image

The Cragsters - "A tribe based on rock. When all 3 combine, they become a giant humanoid rock golem that can turn into a boulder that can roll at enemies. Their cubits are grey."
Krader Set
Meet Krader - "Krader is a tough, short-fused, no nonsense guy. With his attitude, he makes sure no one dares mess with him. Super-strong Krader is one tough Mixel who can bulldoze through rock and dig deep pits to trap Nixels."

Seismo Set

Meet Seismo - " Seismo is a quiet and shy Cragster with huge feet. He can cause an earthquake or avalanche to bury Nixels with them!"

Shuff Set
Meet Shuff - "Shuff is super helpful, super friendly, super super clumsy. This Mixel loves to help up but ends up accidentally smashing everything."

And now the Cragster Max:

The Electroids- "A tribe based on electricity. When all 3 combine, they become a bipedal lion-like creature who can shoot electricity from his tail. Their cubits are yellow."

Teslo Set

Meet Teslo - "Teslo is the leader of the Electroids. He has an electric tail to bounce on, but is afraid of heights!"
Zaptor Set

Meet Zaptor - "Zaptor is the super-charged adrenaline junkie of the Electroids. He is capable of releasing massive blasts of energy and blinding light."

Meet Volectro - " He's a scatter-brained jokester whose body constantly emits static energy."

And now the Electroid Max:

Hope you have enjoyed learning about Series 1 Mixels. Now on to Series 2!

Series 2 was released in May 2014.

The Frosticons - "A tribe based on ice. They live in the icy popsicle lands in frozen volcanoes. Their cubits are dark blue. When all three combine, they become a blue dinosaur-like creature with claws of ice"

41511 Flurr
Meet Flurr - "Flurr is the leader and only tribe member who never seems sleepy and this curious creature likes to fly around and explore the Frosticons lands. Flurr is great at spotting invading Nixels far away but sometimes misses the most obvious things!"
41509 Slumbo
Meet Slumbo - "It takes an earthquake to wake this guy up, believe it or not. But when Slumbo is awake, this lazy Frosticon has the muscle to move giant objects and make obstacles for Nixels. But beware, Slumbo can get a brain freeze from making ice tunnels. He falls asleep at the most inopportune times, like mid-way through lunch or while falling off the side of a cliff."
41510 Lunk
Meet Lunk - " Lunk may not be the brainiest, or most graceful when waddling across ice balancing on his stubby hands, but that thick ice exoskeleton makes this Mixel incredibly durable. And one sneeze from Lunk can instantly freeze a Nixel in an ice cube!"

And now the Frosticon Max:

The Fang Gang - "A tribe based on teeth, who live on farms with totems and make food for their appetites. When they all combine together, they form a brown bear-like creature. Their cubits are brown."

41514 Jawg

Meet Jawg - "Jawg is a bit of an animal, and won't hesitate to bite intruders with those incredibly huge, fang-like teeth. Jawg is a fiercely loyal and animalistic Mixel and leads the Fang Gang."
41513 Gobba
Meet Gobba - "The Fang Gang can go seriously crazy if their stomachs are empty, so use Gobba's extremely sensitive tongue to seek out the best food on their homeland and avoid things that are less tasty. Some say Gobba can even taste feelings - sadness is very salty! His whip-like, elongated tongue gives him an incredible sense of taste that is amazingly accurate and can even be used to find lost items, sort of like a blood hound."
41512 Cromly
Meet Chomly - "
A member of the Fang Gang, the tribe with the biggest appetite, this close talking Mixel has a very bad breath. So you wouldn't want to be stuck next to Chomly at a Fang Gang food party, but his stinking breath comes in very handy for repelling Nixels! A lethargic trash compactor, he'll eat just about anything that's not nailed down."

And now the Fang Gang Max:

The Flexers - "A tribe based on extra limbs. They live in the Sproingylands, using their stretchtastic talents to fight Nixels. When all three combine, they become a hermit crab-like creature. Their cubits are orange."
41515 Kraw
Meet Kraw - "Claiming to be the smartest Mixel in Mixels Land, Kraw loves to challenge anyone to a quiz, but this round-bodied Flexer's main strength is to make like a bouncy, rubber super ball to evade or smash Nixels."

41516 Tentro
Meet Tentro - "Despite being strong and super-intelligent, Tentro lacks confidence. No one knows why though, because this flexible Mixel has tentacles that pack a huge punch and the ability to climb any surface and capture any Nixel that attacks. Tentro is the most powerful of the Flexers tribe, but also the most sensitive. He suffers from a lack of confidence and puts himself in trouble at the most inopportune times."

41517 Balk
Meet Balk - "All that head-butting has bashed Balk's brain-cells, so this hammer-headed Mixel can be forgetful and find it hard to spit out the right words. But there's no one better to defend the Rubber Lands, where the Flexers live, from Nixel invasions."

And now the Flexer Max:

The bad guys!

Nixels

Nixels are small but vicious, annoying, crazy and destructive creatures who are spread all over the land of the Mixels. They live to tear down and break apart the world around them, including any cool combinations that the Mixels create. In fact, there is nothing the Nixels hate more than when two or three Mixels combine together and get super powers. So the Nixels have made it their mission in life to put and end to such crazy creativity all together. And the only way to do this is to hide and destroy the Cubits which enable the Mixels to combine in the first place. One Nixel can do little harm. But when they swarm together they can break apart a Mixel in seconds. So now you’re warned!
They consider themselves far superior to the Mixels, but are only able to say, Nixels, Nix, Mixels, Mix, blow raspberries, whistle, laugh, sputter, yell, inhale, exhale, and scream.

Both big G and little g have absolutely loved building these creatures and creating their own adventures and wars. They have spent hours with these little guys.

Little g and Mami have actually contacted Lego to see if they would be considering a Lego Mixel book release as well. We are still waiting to hear back. In our opinion, it would be a very smart move, but we will have to see what Lego thinks.

We hope you have enjoyed learning about our favorite toy right now. What's your favorite Mixel, Max or Murp? Comment below. We would love to hear from you!

Until next time........who knows what we will dream up!

Lego my Legos

When you have boys you most likely have had Legos at some point. Thankfully, I had a younger brother who had millions of them to pass down to my boys. I didn't realize until now that , Legos are AWESOME! Both boys can sit for a long while entertaining themselves with these little plastic bricks.

With inheriting all the Legos one could ever imagine from the early 90's and beyond, you have to find a spot for them and hope that they will stay in that same exact spot. I know what you're thinking "yeah right!" and "in your dreams". Well, you were partially right. At first the boys had them all over the place. The vacuum and broom were never deprived of those tiny microscopic plastic pieces. But now the boys have their own Lego building center in their room!! After our trip to Legoland and with the recent Lego Movie that came out we were inspired to really bring their Legos out more often for them to really enjoy. According to both boys "Everything is Awesome!"

The setup

For the most part it is pretty contained. Mami and Dad aren't stepping on Minifig Heads or bricks every day anymore. On occasion one or two of the "newest invention" comes downstairs to show but is quickly taken back upstairs to the Master Builder table.
Master Builder Gabe hard at work on his newest creation.

How we did it?

We took an old desk that we were planning on pitching and added some engineer road tape (thanks Kyle & Torii). Found a few big plates of various sizes and just put the gazillion bricks in 5 tubs. When they are building their newest creation it's at the desk.

Check out the builders in action.

No matter how "cool" you are,  playing with Legos with your little brother is still fun.
Challenge accepted. They made the Cat in the Hat's Hat.

They have their Lego head sorter to sort and sift the pieces and then it's game on. The Lego shelf pictured came from Toys R Us and holds anything but Lego pieces. Just there for looks I guess.

Where does the inspiration come from?

Mami found them a white board calendar and wrote down different Lego building challenges each day. Check out the link below for the  April Lego Building Challenge Calendar. Each week there is a FREE CHOICE spot for them to build whatever their creative little minds can think up. I try to use current holidays and events that might be coming up for inspiration. If I get stuck the boys have got plenty of ideas as well. We signed them both up for the FREE Lego club magazine. It arrives every other month. Click the link to sign your Lego lover up.  Lego Club Magazine Sign Up. Along with the magazines we do have a few books to help with the ideas.
Good for thinking up scene ideas.
Best book ever!!

Lego Club and Lego Club Jr. Magazines
Our latest addition to the Lego Collection. Not much actual building instructions but good for brainstorming.

This is one of our permanent Lego building ideas that the boys and I did. It now hangs proudly inside our coat closet in the living room. They were so proud of it and Mami loves it too! Total time was under 15 minutes but it is something that will last a very long time.

I hope you enjoyed reading about Legos. Until next time........who knows what we will dream up!
